We all went to a food party at our friends house just after our little man started teething. He was pretty good during most of the party but got a bit fussy towards the end of it.
Just as the party was wrapping up, I was holding Alfie on my hip when all of a sudden he did the most explosive runny poo I have ever seen. It literally shot out the top of his nappy and onto our friends cream couch, a padded dining chair and all over my shorts. It was so loud that everyone stopped talking to see it.
It was so embarrassing! We didn’t even take a photo it was just panic to clean it all up haha. Luckily our friend was very good about it. I felt so bad 😦
Much to our little man’s cousins’ excitement, we had our first sleep over since he was born. We all had lots of fun.
We went out to dinner at our favourite local restaurant.
Scarla loves our Alfie sooo much!
We walked to our local park for a play
Then Alfie went to bed, the girls had a bath, watched a movie and fell asleep.
In the morning we went to Dome for breakfast and then to Atlantis for a play. Alfie slept through the first half of Atlantis but then got to have a bit of a play. The girls had a ball.
Then we came home for a swim in Alfie’s pool
A fun time was had by all 🙂
Just before our little man turned 8 months old, his first tooth popped through. We were so excited to see the tiny white speck poke through his gums until a couple of days later he entered full blown teething for a couple of weeks until both of his 2 bottom teeth were through.
We had screaming for at least a week and a half. He was really clingy and upset during the day and screamed most of the night. He stopped taking his dummy (to never start again), wouldn’t latch to breastfeed, didn’t want solids and was waking up every 2 hours at night (only going to sleep by being held and walked around the house). We tried everything (nurofen, panadol, teething rings/toys, gels, dissolving tablets) but nothing would help. After a week of this and when he had a whole morning with no food or drink I took him to the doctors to make sure nothing else was wrong with him. We saw an awesome doctor who checked him from head to toe and said he was fine.
It was such a relief when both of the teeth finally came through and he was much happier. It took a whole month until he started sleeping through the night again but we think this must have been attributed to the leap in development he was going through as well. Luckily after the teeth were through, I was able to just breastfeed him straight back to sleep instead of battling with him to get him back to sleep without boob. One night we were out driving the streets at 1:30 am to get him to fall asleep as he had been awake all night screaming.
I got our little man to sleep in his swing for his morning nap so that I could have a shower (because I didn’t get around to having one the night before) and knew I had 40 mins. So I have my shower and when I get out I thought I could hear him. I went to go check him and because he was in the dark I couldn’t see him properly so I turned on the light and there he was sitting like this. He was so proud of himself that he had somehow managed to get both arms out of the straps and sit up in it lol.
