Sleeping Like a Big Boy

image

When our little man was 5.5 months old, we moved him into his own room to sleep in his big boy cot. Our little man has started wanting to sleep on his side and the portacot that he has been sleeping in, in our room has a dip in the middle so when he rolls to his side, he keeps falling back and waking up. So we decided it was time to move him.

I was quite nervous about moving him, but once I knew I would hear him if he cried and needed me, I slept fine. I actually enjoy him in his room because it feels like we’re living the life I imagined when I was pregnant.

The only hiccup we encountered was over the first two nights, he was waking up because his legs were getting stuck between the bars of the cot. I bought some Airwave bumpers and we all slept great 🙂

Melbourne Cup

This year is the first year I haven’t been working or at school for Melbourne Cup. Alfie and I went down to the local pub with our Mothers Group to join the festivities 🙂 I even pumped before we went and had a glass of champagne with lunch. It was a fun day out even if it was pretty hot.

Carrots!

Our little man isn’t much of a fan of carrots and somehow got completely covered in them during his dinner feed!

Needless to say, he needed a wash after that haha. (This is the first time he started splashing in the water)

Halloween

We spent Halloween with Lashana and Scarla. We took them trick or treating around our area. Unfortunately a lot of houses had signs out the front saying “no Halloween” which was a bit disappointing. Last year the area was full of trick or treaters and it seemed the whole community got into it. Either way we had a fun time.

Before we took the girls out, I couldn’t resist putting our little man in a pumpkin in our new backyard. The poor thing hated it in there and got stuck so we had to cut him out.

On the move!

Now that our little man can sit by himself, he is also rolling a lot to get to things. I often come back to him in a completely different area in the room when I have left him sitting on his play mat while I do something.
