Lunch out

We went out for a family lunch at a local cafe. We didn’t bring the nappy bag out of the car so Alfie didn’t have any toys to play with while we wanted to get our food. Daddy gave Alfie his new amiibo which Alfie continued to chew and destroy the box. When the food came, he decided he had enough of the high chair and sat on Mummy’s lap, trying to steal her food.

Date Night

It was Daddys turn to decide where we went for date night and we went to The Sovereign Arms for dinner and then went to Time Zone.

Alfie spent most of the dinner sitting with Mummy and trying to steal her food. He also flirted with some women at the table over by smiling. He got a bit fussy at the end of the dinner, so Daddy put him in the Ergo and he fell asleep while we played some games at TimeZone.

Solids

At 20 weeks old, we decided to start giving Alfie solids. We started with baby rice cereal mixed with breast milk. Alfie was very eager to get it into his mouth but spat most of it back out. It was really runny and as soon as we put it in his mouth, he put his fingers in his mouth and sucked them.

A few days later, he was fussy on the boob and was trying to steal my food so we decided to give him another go. This time we mixed the rice cereal with water and it was much thicker. He managed to swallow a few mouthfuls this time and really enjoyed it. We found that if you keep the spoon in his mouth, he likes to suck the food off and then swallows it.

It is a very messy process, but lots of fun.

Movin’ and Groovin’

At 4.5 months of age (19 weeks), our little man started creeping forward (worming) on his belly. Just a few days earlier he was still fussing whenever he was out on his belly and then all of a sudden, he figured out how to pull himself forwards and move around in a circle. It was so exciting as Daddy and Mummy were both sitting together watching him when he did it for the first time. He also rolled over from his tummy to his back for the first time.

The maiden voyage!

The second voyage (see the drool trail) completed with an accidental roll off the edge haha

Now he’s a natural on his belly! Here he is with his newΒ  favourite toy…a pack of chips πŸ™‚

He continued to do it each day after as well (unlike his rolling which hes done once and then saw to reason to so again)

Wild Kidz

Lashana and Scarla wanted us to take them to the Royal Show but we thought it would be a bit difficult this year. So instead of taking the trek out to the Royal Show, we took them to Wild Kidz (an indoor playground) and we made up some show bags for them with lollies and toys.

They had a ball there, playing all over and as a bonus it was really quiet so the girls had the place to themselves most of the time. Alfie slept through most of it in the Ergo but woke up for a breastfeed just before we left.

Family Picnic

image

We went on a family picnic at the park in Hillaries again. I loved Alfie’s outfit πŸ™‚ we went with BaaBaa, JiiJii, Aunty Chels and her bf James, Uncle Trent and his gf Sarah, Uncle Adam and Rhi, and we brought Lashana and Scarla with us too. So it was a big picnic πŸ™‚

Unfortunately Alfie wasn’t very happy for the second half of the picnic and BaaBaa even had to go and get us some baby panadol because we couldnt settle him.

Everyone had a good time though, playing cricket and footy and chatting.
