Alfie and I went to go and watch his cousins (Lashana and Scarla) at their school sports carnival. I carried our little man in the ergo for most of it. He enjoyed looking all around and then eventually fell asleep. We watched Lashana come second in passball and then had lunch with her. Then we watched Scarla in her running race. It was a fun day out but we were both very tired by the end of the day.

First Giggles
When Alfie was almost 14 weeks old, we first heard his little giggle. Daddy was playing with our little man on the change table. Playing peek a boo and then all of a sudden, he started laughing. I ran in from the kitchen (staying out of Alfie’s line of sight so I didn’t make him stop) and got to watch it in action. It was the cutest thing! He didn’t giggle again until a week later. He doesn’t give out his giggles very easily lol you have to work pretty hard 🙂

Three Months Old
No More Bassinet
Our little man outgrew his bassinet at 13 weeks old, so we decided to put him in his porta cot at night instead of moving him to his own room just yet.
He loved his new found freedom and wiggled like there was no tomorrow (as he does)
This is him at 10pm                    and                            then at 8am!
We’ve come a long way from when we first brought him home. I remember first putting him in his bassinet and not being able to even sleep with my back to him. the only way I could sleep was if I was facing him and had checked he was breathing just before I put my head down (I often checked multiple times). Up until he was 6 weeks old, everytime I woke up, I thought I had fallen asleep with him on me and freaking out thinking I had smothered him in my blankets. I would be searching through my blankets and then realise that I had actually woken up because he was crying in the bassinet. As time went on though I became more relaxed and comfortable with knowing that he was okay in there and sleeping got a lot easier (especially when he started sleeping through the night)

Play Date
When our little man was 12 weeks old, we had a play date with his cousins, Lashana, Scarla and Ajay. Alfie has grown a lot since they last met and now Ajay and Alfie have very similar body lengths. Ajay’s legs and arms are still way longer than Alfie’s haha.
Lashana and Scarla had fun playing on the computers, Ajay had a jump in our Jolly Jumper and Alfie had a play with his Aunty Kira. 🙂
Grabbing
At 12 weeks exactly, our little man started grabbing. We were sitting in Daddy’s gym watching him do weights. I had Alfie lying down and I was playing with him. I held my hand in front of his face, waving my fingers and then all of a sudden, his little hand slowly reached out and jerked towards mine. I kept my hand there for what felt like ages as I waited for him to get his hand on mine and then all of a sudden he was on target and grabbed my finger! It was so exciting! 🙂
The day after this, he was sitting in his froggy chair and I was holding toys in front of him and he was grabbing them and bringing them to his mouth. It was the cutest thing. From then on anything that is put in front of him, he grabs to put it in his mouth (although sometimes he just prefers to throw his head forward and just open his mouth)
