Bush Baby.

Our little man fell in a trench that daddy had dug out. Face first of course!

It didn’t bother him though 🙂 he’s a tough cookie.

He proceeded to walk to the back yard and pick himself a capsicum and eat it lol

Real Breastfeeding Cut Down

While our little man was sick, he started picking up his feeds again. I was happy to feed him more while he had gastro because he wasn’t eating much and he needed the fluids and comfort. Because our little man is such a booby addict, he didn’t want to go back to less feeds and he was feeding for comfort (to go to sleep) a lot during the day and night.

So at about 10.5 months, we decided to take away any comfort feeding and just feed him if he wanted it for nourishment. The transition didn’t actually turn out too bad. Daddy started getting up in the night and walking him back to sleep so he didn’t smell any milk on Mummy and during the day Mummy walked him around in the ergo. We also started introducing cows milk as a drink throughout the day to make sure he was getting enough dairy.

So by 11 months old, he was just having 1 breastfeed in the morning and a bottle of cows milk in the morning and night (about 60ml each time). The one breastfeed was really initiated by me to make sure he was still getting some for nourishment as the recommendation now is for babies to have breastmilk/formula until they are 1.

So once we took away using the boob as comfort,  he wasn’t really interested in breastfeeding.

BaaBaa’s Rhyme Time

On one of BaaBaa’s visits, our little man was sitting with BaaBaa and she found our little book with nursery rhymes in it. She started singing him the songs and he was loving it. She tried to put him down but he wouldn’t let her and kept wanting to go back on her lap. It was so nice to see him initiate some cuddles with someone other than Mummy and Daddy 🙂
